Liz's response to British exploration .

George Macartney was a Scotish-Chinese translater who lived in Central Asia in the 19th century. The unknown language was Khotonese in China. Mohamed-i-Hameed was the first official 'pandit'. In 1863Mohamed-i-Hameed was in Taklamakan which is in Asia. The manuscripts were founded by treasure hunters in 1889.

Aysia's response to "If the Zenkov Cathedral was bulit without nails, wouldn't it have fell down automatically during earthquakes?

The Zenkov Cathedral was bulit of plaster-cover wood to resist earthquakes after a massive tremor leveled much in the city in 1887.

When reseacrhing about comparing the wealth of Almaty and Tashkent, I was suprised to find that Tashkent's doctors only made $50 a month. As opposed to Almaty made much more.

The answer is YES because its compared to San Franciso, which is one of the most expensive places to live, and in order to live in an expensive place you need money.. =)

1. Stein studied Persian and Sanskrit in Austria and Germany then studied and worked in England and India.

2. Stein was born in Hungary in 1862.

It was function as a school because schools was gradually shifting to instructions, abadoning Russia.

I found interesting how people of Tashkent live in Central Asia but dont look Asian. The reason is because Tashkent closer to Russia about three country away from Almaty.

They are closer to Russia than China, having their own language and religion.

When reading about Tashkent and AlmaTy I found out that there not both in Russia but in Kazakhstan.I also found out that Almaty is wealthier than Tashkent because of the oil they have and the natural gas they have.

He conducted excavation, surveying, photographing and enthnographical surveys.
Rudolph Hoernle was a scholar who deciphered manuscripts
The great game occurred in the 19th Century, when Britain and Russia had vied for political control of a certain arena. They both wished to prevent the other gaining control and intelligence about the land between.

I was surprised to see that Almaty is richer then Tashkent becuase they have more oil. Also i was surprised to learn that even though these people lived in Asia they werent Asian and that they had differnt relgions.

Tommy Lee -I noticed that Almaty has a lot of money and oil. They have cars and it is easy to get gas.

the reason Taklamakan people don't look Asian is because they live closer to Russia then Almaty. Also,they have their own religion and their own language. Electronics are very popular. Aplaiaance stores go on for miles. Idian Buddhism spread to Japan and China also their other religion is Nestorian Christianity.They have dances where normal people dance with disabled people like someone in a wheel chair.

These evidences, from the Britsh Finding article explains the explosion of the new archeological age. But I wonder why, when the British and Russians had sent the local spies to draw maps would they care about a few broken buildings when others don't bother to try to keep continuing their care and religion or even remember what articfacts they left?
